Straightening curly keyboard cord

MDE

Lifer
I have an old Packard Bell (laugh if you want, I'm ashamed of it too) keyboard that I actually kinda like. The problem is that the cord is one of those curly suckers. Is there an easy way to straighten the cord or is this thing a lost cause?

I'm an unemployed student, and picky about my keyboards, so buying a cheap one is out of the question for now.

That's true, never thought of that. I guess I could find some way of attatching the cords together so they don't come apart.

Some duct tape around the ends might work well for securing the extension connection.
Also, I thought about straightening the curly cable... you might be able to wrap it very tightly around something round with a 6"+ diameter (trash can, tree, something), securing the ends with, um, duct tape. Then leave it somewhere warm/hot for a few days. Not sure if that'll work, but it might.
