So I want to build a HTPC for the 30" HDTV in my room. I don't plan on using it for anything more then a DVR/video file player, so I won't be playing games or doing much surfing on it.
My biggest question is how powerful should the CPU and vid-card I get for it be. Is something like a Radeon 6500 AIW enough to transfer HD content? Would an AMD 3200+ @ 2.0GHz be enough to get the job done on its side? If someone could give me an idea of how low/high I should go that would be great.
Basically I'm looking hardware combinations as examples for what I should be looking into. I'll spend some good cash on this I just don't want to get something more powerful then I would ever need. I got a case with a 400W PSU picked out already, it can fit full and micro ATX boards if that helps.
TIA
