http://slickdeals.net/f/5263806-Straight-Talk-Sim-Cards-4-99?

I just saw this on Slickdeals and thought I would post it here since there's lot of talk of Straight Talk here. If you have any interest in trying Straight Talk, I would advise jumping on this deal now. The SIM cards are normally $15 a piece. I paid $30 for two couple months back. Wish this deal was around when I bought.

Good deal, they were a rip-off at $15.

Luckily, I get free replacement SIMs since I'm still using the Nokia SIM swap trick.

I am using the Nokia sim, how do you get a free replacement?

Whenever you change numbers or port out/in they need to send you a new SIM.
So if you port out to a different service provider and back to ST using Nokia phone, they send you a new SIM to activate your account. The SIMs come free with the Nokia phone. BYOD would have to pay for a new SIM if they ported out and then back to ST.

Or if your SIM is broken for some reason, you can request one I guess.

Don't think you can order 5 SIMs and have 5 different lines though. Each SIM is tied to the Nokia phone, so you can only have 1 active one.

Me too. I ordered AT&T microsim version as backup. $5.34 shipped.

How did you get the cheap shipping? For me, they're trying to charge like $5 bucks for shipping.

Might as well just buy a used one off of eBay for that price...

If you select ground shipping, $5 is deducted at the final checkout for free shipping.

Ah dang, I just got my SIM card the other day for $10. Used the promo code "SIMSALE" rather than "SIMSAVE". Ah well :p

What kind of SIM do I need for:

AT&T iPhone 3GS
AT&T SG3
International SG3
Galaxy Nexus

Thanks
1.) Straight Talk AT&T SIM
2.) Straight Talk AT&T SIM
3.) Straight Talk AT&T SIM
4.) Straight Talk AT&T SIM or Straight Talk T-Mobile SIM

Here's another option:
T-Mobile G3: Straight Talk AT&T SIM or Straight Talk T-Mobile SIM.
Unlike AT&T version of SG3, the T-Mobile version has all the bands.

To add to this.

iPhone 3GS uses regular size SIM.
GS3 uses microSIM.
Galaxy Nexus uses a regular size I think.

Thank you for that addition.
I forgot about the MicroSIM size nonsense.

As a precaution, I just went ahead and ordered one of each SIM.
I currently have mine from the Nokia E71 unlock trick.

I bought a T-mobile version in case I want to try that out or if I need more data leniency.
I bought an AT&T MicroSIM for a future phone(not sure if the world is adopting the MicroSIM standard or not, but just in case).
I also bought the AT&T standard SIM in case I feel like throwing my Nokia E71 away. I haven't found a reason to do so, however. That thing is just collecting dust.

Regular and Microsim are not really big deal. You can cut the regular Sim card into microsim size. And if you have microsim, you can use adapter to use it in phones that need full size Sim. Just like microSD and SD memory cards. The Sim adapters are like $1 shipped on places like EBay and Amazon. I ordered the microsim to avoid the hassle of cutting the Sim since I have adapters.

Glad I saw this when I did, as this was still valid this morning @~7am. Ordered a micro sim to see if the ATT repeaters at work will be fine with straight talk. If so I may be able to ditch ATT before long.

I'll buy a couple but I'm still Leary if you truly get the same coverage, speed, etc as being on AT&T

Check out this thread at HoFo.

They say the ATT sim uses ATT full post-paid coverage, whereas the Tmo sim uses only the Tmo prepaid coverage.

Beats me the accuracy of their statements, but Tmo's coverage is certainly different, especially with data, between pre and post-paid.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to give it a shot.
I also see that your in Denver, what carrier do you use? I've also thought about Verizon cause they seem to have the best coverage here in Colorado but I thought I'd try this deal first.
I have been working in Denver area a lot this yr plus in-laws live there along with Pueblo but my AT&T service does not seem to be the greatest when I visit the in-laws. Could possibly be partly due to my iphone4 too. I've always had various issues with my phone/service. My wife's old 3GS always did better, not sure about her 4s though. Planning on trying an android phone this time.
Thanks again and sorry to get slightly off topic

How are they a rip-off for a one-time fee of $15, when you're saving $75/month over AT&T post-paid for the same plan/coverage?

IIRC, Nokia SIM swap users had to buy a Nokia E71 for anywhere from $100-$200.

Agree, but most other providers sell SIMs for $1.

True, but most other providers ding you where it really counts: service, coverage, and monthly costs.

I'm on Sprint because of a work discount. They're unimpressive. A few irritating holes on my work drive, poor building penetration, lame speeds, hardly any 4G (wimax only still) coverage, etc...

I'm bailing for Straight Talk at the end of the year. Verizon is almost certainly best in town, and has the best building penetration. But we have family in BFE Wyoming where only Tmo and ATT roam on the GSM service partners up there. Sprint and Verizon get bupkis.

I've had Tmo before and thought they were actually decent in the Denver area and along I-70. They kinda had to be since, once upon a time, they had a program called "Rocky Mountain Talk or Walk". Poor service got you out of your contract pretty easily. Mountains are hell on the carriers, so I think they must've invested some infrastructure here.
