*sigh*
A long time ago (from about 1994-2004) I really liked rap not because of what it said, but because rap had good end rhyme, everything wasn't always about who had the better whatever and even when it started going the gangsta route, end rhyme still existed with good beats. I'd say circa 2004-5 is when rappers decided that end rhyme no longer needed to apply to their music hence why I think it's just lame now. Also, the beats are either remixed of old beats, or stolen from songs years past. The people rapping today do not portray any art because it is just them speaking what they have and what they want and who they think they are without any reguard to the flow of the beat and solidifying end rhyme. Don't get me wrong there are still some good 'club bangin' songs out there, but most of rap I just don't care for that much anymore. If you are going to call rappers artists, call the people that made them who they are today artists, cause it takes a lot of effort to make someone who looks like a moron portrayed in a positive light.
Example of good end rhyme:
Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice (snippet)
Now, that, I got me some seagrams
gin
Everybody got they cups, but they aint chipped
in
Now this types of shit, happens all the
time
You got to get yours but fool I gotta get
mine
Everything is fine when you listenin to the d-o-
g
I got the cultivating music that be captivating
he
Example of bad end rhyme:
Young Jezzy - And then what (snippet)
I tried to tell 'em but these niggaz ain't hearin' me
Mossberg Pump ridin' shotgun literally (daaamn)
Live from the projects, you know what it is
Ay, Snowman, (what up), can I get a ad lib?
Get the club crunk, can't take that from me
Ain't dropped yet, still got a lil' jon money
*sigh*
