Just saw this with a buddy from work and thought it was awesome, imo it's gonna be an instant classic. I'm just a moderate fan of rap and I was hooked for the entire 2.5 hours which I thought at first was gonna be too long. Go see it now.
 
i'm glad that it came out and hope it inspires some better rap music to get made

i remember buying The Chronic in 1992, that album was far ahead of it's time, it still sounds fresh 20+ years later
 
I've been meaning to see this film. I really liked 90's rap so this one kind of appeals to me.

Yeah I'd like to see it. I've never listened to N.W.A., only some Dr. Dre here and there. I like alternative hip-hop more, like Jurassic 5, Hieroglyphics/Del, Binary Star, etc. Even then, I don't listen much. Good to hear you enjoyed the movie.
 
Saw it opening night. Grew up listening to NWA. Very surprised to see so many younger people in line to see it.

Problem with this statement is Bill has not admitted his wrong doing.
I think Dre's statement was sincere and appropriate.

Plus Dre is gangsta, so it's expected I guess?

It's portrayed in the music, so we should assume it's got some merit to it.

I'm sure Subway could put together a "sincere and appropriate" defense to his wrongdoings, and everyone would be happy, right?

I honestly hope this gets more media attention, but I have a feeling it will go away quickly. Black women getting beat by gangsters doesn't get a lot of attention, its not like its illegal to assault them so who cares. Pimps do it all the time, and they have awesome crowns and canes.

Black women are the stress relievers (aka punching bags) of illegal corporations and rap artists. Beat a white woman though, you are playing with fire.

Can anyone ever been forgiven for anything under your definition? These are opinions so there is no right or wrong answer.
Again he addressed it, didn't hide it or make excuses, he has actively sought treatment and he has a 19 year history of change. Good enough to me.

Forgiven is different than being held responsible. Cosby has been destroyed in the media, lost a lot of support, cancelled contracts, etc....For something he did YEARS ago.

Dre? Meh, he is making apple a lot of money, so lets forget about the history of abuse.
 
So now we're comparing some domestic abuse with Jared Fogle banging underage kids and child porn possession as well as Cosby drugging and raping probably dozens of women. Yeah its totally comparable.

The knowledge that he beat Michel'le isn't new. People are acting like if this is some new revelation or something.

Sean Penn tied up and beat Madonna for hours. The charges were later dropped.

Where's your animosity towards him?

I just enjoy the hipocracy in each case. Sometimes it's OK, other times we should burn them at the stake. It's sad and hilarious at the same time.

What justifies worse abuse? Mental, sexual or physical? Just because it's a black eye as opposed to a molestion it's OK? Is there an appropriate age to beat your spouse?
