I need to run some cable through a drop ceiling to setup some remote WiFi access points with POE.
I was hoping to do this the "ethnically rigged" cheapskate way and use pre-terminated cables. I really don't want to have to mount boxes to punch down the cable.
I'm just wondering if I should use shielded cable, or just stick with Cat 6 UTP?
There are flourescent light boxes everywhere.

Avoid shielded cable at all costs. It simply isn't used for network applications and normally causes a ton of problems.

Neither, run solid core UTP Cat X(5,5e,6) to keystone jacks and patch from there with store bought patch panels. There's a sticky with LOTS of information about how to properly lay cables, I suggest reading that before you waste your time and money on STP.

Of the dozens of installs that I've been a part of, I've never seen one that used STP. Any type of run that was impacted by EMI enough to potentially effect performance used fiber.

Ive seen it a few times in industrial settings and here in the hospital where I work, but like spidey said, be VERY careful to make sure its installed properly.
