last night I was awakened at midnight by the phone ringing.
I let it ring until it stopped and then I went back to sleep.
I was awakened again at 1am to the sound of some guy talking loudly with my mom in the house.
my mom told me the story in the morning:
around 1am the doorbell rings and rings and finally my mom gets up and walks to the door and while she's walking, hears this guy banging on the door shouting "POLICE!". she was totally freaked out and petrified because she thought the only reason a cop would possibly come at 1am is to say a family member has died. anyway, while my mom was shaking with fear, the cop was casually chatting it up with her and several minutes later finally got to the point of why he had come. he found my sister's wallet. she hasn't even lived here for 4 years.
