Hollywood is going to do this story, with American divers and Megan Fox as the survivor.

Wow, a white guy encounters a person of color in distress and doesn't shot them in the face with a shotgun? I'm calling bs, that's the same place they filmed the moon landing.

It was a toss up go with the current publicized trend of people shooting helpless strangers in the face or some zombie cliche.

After an undisclosed period of time, Okene said he heard movement in the icy waters around him, and decided to jump into the water in search of a rescuer.

This makes no sense. If he had access to open water, why didn't he swim to the surface?

You cant possibly be that dumb. The ship was sunk and in over 100ft deep of water, and he would have to be able to swim out of the ship not knowing where he was going, what doors may or may not be locked, and wouldn't have any clue where the next air pocket was.

He did the only thing he could.

Yea, I must be a fuckin' dumbass. I'd stupidly try to save myself instead of sitting on my ass, and hoping someone came for me, cause of course they'd be in a huge hurry to rescue survivors(LoL!) in a sunken surface ship.

I watched this on Liveleak yesterday. Pretty amazing story. As for the survivor swimming out of the wreck... no way :). I can't imagine what it was like in there for three days. I don't think he had much reason to hope a diver would be showing up in time to help.

People if you think he could of just swim up, it is impossible due to nitrogen build up in the blood.

Which is why you'd be one of the bodies they'd recover. Don't worry, nobody will know how dumb you are when you die.

How long do you figure you would last in icy waters?

also he was 20 miles from land in rough seas, he would have been dead in under an hour if he had just decided to swim out (assuming he could even make it out)
