Reading this reminded me of the book Neil Peart wrote. He lost his daughter and wife and felt he had nothing left to live for - so he hopped on his motorcycle and never looked back.

Married in 2010 and then in 2011 she was diagnosed with cancer, and 13 months later was gone. Jeez... poor guy.
