Storm - American Gladiator - Homeless

Any sympathy I had was reduced to zero upon reading that.

She was a victim of domestic abuse, let's see you get the shit beat out of you by another person on a regular basis and not develop something like a drinking or drug problem in an attempt to cope with it.

Well said. And I do feel sorry for her. Never watched AG, or any of that shit, but I'm sure there's someone somewhere making money off it running in syndication in someplace like Bogotá.

Plenty of people cope without resorting to those things. Oh, sorry, that doesn't suit your agenda, my bad.

Could happen to anyone. She just happens to have had more of a chance than anyone else. The higher you go, the farther you can fall.

This also stuck out to me:

"My parents died within months of each other," she said. "I buried my mother seven months ago. They were lottery winners but lost all that money because when they moved from Connecticut to South Carolina, they were double-taxed."

Sounds like a severe lack of planning was pretty common in her family. It's tough to change those types of situations.

Seemed like there may be more to her story. I understand the domestic violence issue, but other comments seemed to be hedging towards excuses for her situation.

And even more people stay in the relationship and get their ass beat until the day they die. Maybe she should have done that?

I can understand why she did what she did, but apparently you don't find a woman getting beat as a big deal because there are people who cope with it in a better way.

I think people feel way too much sympathy for women who are in abusive relationships. Sorry but a relationship isn't that hard to get out of. Look how many people manage to divorce their spouse (~50%). I'm not excusing the violent behavior of the abusers at all but if a persons stays around to get abused, they are not being responsible. Also, the truth is a lot of women are attracted to tough guys and then it turns out the the guy is too tough.

Yea, the real problem is that the women are too afraid or stupid to press charges and divorce the worthless scum who beat on them.... It's disgusting how much they allow themselves to be degraded.

Nobody "tough" ever beats on women. Only weak fools beat on others.

I used to think this, then I watched what happened when my ex wife tried to get divorced from her next husband. He beat her up several times. She called the police, they would come and arrest him, and he would be back the next day. No charges were ever filed by the prosecuting attorney. Pretty much proved to me if you have money and are in good standing in the church you can do anything you want around here.

So it was only the "double taxation" that took all of it? That's interesting...

My step sister use to be married, she tried to leave her husband at the time. He told her if you leave I will kill you. She went to the police and they gave her a restraining order against him. At this time she had just moved elsewhere. Without her saying anything he tracked her down, the restraining order was a joke, he knew about it but it didn't mean anything to him.

That's typical for when a woman tries to leave an abusive relationship. The police do little to nothing, My step sister ended up moving to a different state and he still found her *again* She's lucky to be alive today, if someone hadn't been where she moved to to get in the way he would have probably beaten her to death. She did everything she could to get away and it still almost cost her life. I hate to burst your bubble, but it's VERY hard for many of these females to get out the relationship. What should a woman who has nowhere to go do? Not everyone's ATOT rich and has a half a million cash sitting in the bank.
