Sure am glad I've got one. As well as the rest of the chem gear. Good against nuclear fallout too, except for gamma.:frown: Then again just plain BDU's, gloves and the mask will protect you from alpha and beta particles. So they tell us anyway..

About $40 to $50 bucks Surplus. Yes they do protect you as long as you get a decent surplus mask with NATO 40mm canister filters (dated and vacuum sealed) Chemicals are the toughest to filter. Nuclear and Bio stuff is mostly dust and spores and is much easier to filter out than chemicals leading to a longer lifespan of your filters. Don't forget the extra filters.
I have the MCU-2A/P mask and other goodies. I USED to even have a good set of 2Pam/Atropine autoinjectors, Cat 3 and Cat 5 bullet proof vests, you name it.
