Store with the best return policy?

I have a compatibility porblem between my laptop and a firewire cardbus adapter.
Now it looks like I will need to get a new one.
Which store has the best return policy in case the new card is again not compatible?

Best Buy? Circuit City? ...

Fry's elestronics, if you live in the SW.
They take ANY THING back.

Their policy has changed recently due to abuse.

The best place would be costco. I believe their return policy is up to a year. You can even return opened fish too.

What policy change did Fry's undergo?

awhile back, frys would accept anything as long as it looked remotely like a product

people would buy the frys mobo/cpu combos to try em out and later return em. Also, unethical n00b overclockers that fried their cpu would do a swap (buy an equivalent cpu at frys, return your fried one in the same box)

This got so rampant that frys changed their policy slightly. All peripherals (digital cameras, printers, harddrives, mobo/cpu) have a 15 day return policy. And you have to sign a form with the serial # of your item on it, so that you can't do a swap.

Also when you return a mobo/cpu, they have their "techs" power it on first to see if somethings wrong...and the techs are st00pid.

Well I would really just try if it is compatible with my laptop ...
... and return if fully functioning in mint condition the next day.
( I would definitely not swap and I might not buy anything instead. )

So if you're not trying to rip them off, Fry's is still the best place to return stuff. At least within 15 days, you return anything --- no restocking fees. And the best thing about Fry's is that if your chip stops working within the first year for ANY reason, as long as there is no physical damage, they'll give you a brand new one. IMHO an amazingly generous policy.
