Right. I mean yeah, the first guy is wrong. It's better to keep accounts open as I understand it, up to a certain point. You don't want too many open accounts though. I don't think they would ever close it on you for not using it. I've never heard of that. Store accounts usually have HIGH interest rates. Just leave it sit there until they run some good promotions for using it. Get a Citibank Dividend card for everything else. Do it. Bye.Originally posted by: DVK916

Only if you have like 3 times more credit than income (revolving anyway).

WRONG
The only way having a store credit card will be helpful if you carry other credit balances which I bet most of the ones yelling WRONG are doing.

I would cancel it just to clear up 'life clutter.' If your credit hx is good, I doubt cancellation would have much of an effect.

Exactly, you would have to weigh whether the slight decrease in score is worth more than the potential risk in having the account open. (ID theft based on a lost record by the servicing bank, or something of that sort.)
I'm just stunned by your comment on Mens Warehouse! I thought they had good prices. Anyway, if this is one of your earlier cards, closing it will most certainly affect your credit score.Originally posted by: Jnetty99
