it was all real. I knew a guy who would do what they do for fun. Not for a living or anything and he wouldnt be paying more than 100 bucks for a unit. Like any sort of reality thing that you follow real life people itll start as the actual job and just progress into more and more scripted for tv. just look at dealdiest catch. First season or two were great. Then it wa jsust them finding as much drama as possible

Yeah, it's actually real, just edited. They do 100's of actions before they get ones to film.

I could really care less if all shows are planned out, retaped, or whatever. It helps pass the time and they show some cool stuff. I never fell for the whole "this is really happening". And yes Brandy is hot. I watched the new episode last night and she was wearing this tight little dress. It was nice seeing those legs!

I remember seeing something where for every unit they DO show on TV, there's a lot more they DON'T show because they're boring or a loss or something. I wouldn't say it's fake but it's definitely cherry picked.

And Brandi is smoking hot, so theres that.

3 things,

1. the stars of the show said for every good locker seen on TV there are 20-30 non profitable ones.
2. No one has yet to explain what or how this show is fake. Until that happens those posts are a waste of time.
3. It is annoying that the winners are based on theoretical profits but when the treasures could take months or over a year to sell how else do they determine a winner?

15 yrs ago lockers in my home town never sold for more than a few hundred on a good day. Sometimes a large packed locker would sell for good money but was rare. I never bought a locker that had real treasures. Just the usual porn mags,Polaroids of nasty chicks and crap that was hard to give away.

same. i used to go to auctions (both home and storage) all the time. I wouldn't make a ton but hell i would get good hand tools and make a slight profit on Ebay. Now everyone is fucking doing it. before there would be maybe 10 people total at the storage locker auctions. Now there are like 100-200. The cost of shit is retarded. where i used to get a full locker for at max $50 now even ones with very little stuff is going for $100.

fuck that.

I've only seen an episode or two. Do those storage warriors have day jobs? I don't see how they could make that much money.

couple of them have shops they sell stuff in, and the rich old guy who reminds me of jack nicholson is just a collector.

TV shows are scripted?

Nooooooo!!!!!

Next you'll tell me that those monster truck battles and UFC fights are scripted too...

no one mentioned the fact that it is always the same auctioneer no matter if they are in Vegas, LA or some place else in CA?

I read on the AE forums that the production company buys all of the units ahead of time and then auctions them off to their people. I would guess this is where they plant objects.

Also, there a few good threads from people who actually do this thing for a living who say the show is some what bogus, as every unit always has garbage bags of clothes, dirty mattresses, fake plants and broken kid's toys.
