Storage issues in Samsung Galaxy Note 2

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to free up over 4g of supposed pictures and video on my phone's storage. I thought for sure all of my pics and videos were on my sd card or synced through one of my cloud apps (Dropbox or Google Drive). When I remove my sd card and check my gallery, it only shows a total of maybe 30 pictures and no videos, hardly enough to equate to over 4gs. Maybe I'm missing the obvious....HELP!

maybe you don't have 4g of video/images on your internal storage to be removed ?

I've experienced this with Dropbox. I delete large video files but they remain in the cache (the hidden Dropbox folder). You can either try clearing the cache from within the Dropbox app or do it manually by using a file browser.
