This is so weird. I'm losing about two pounds a week body weight over the last three weeks since for some reason I just stopped cold turkey going to the gym. At the same time I'm getting fatter! I haven't weighed this little in several years. I figured some must be muscle but how could I possibly be losing muscle that fast - I couldn't be. Am I dying?

Fat weighs less than muscle. And, your metabolism will start to slow down and won't burn calories as much and then, yes, your girth will increase.

Come on Skoorbie, you know why as well as I do! You are losing muscle, and losing it fast.

However, you do look awful thin....maybe that is your losing muscle though...

No worries...I have no idea why we suddenly stopped going...that's weird...just weird...but we shall return! :D

Yeah but I'm losing weight FAST and my diet has gone to crap too. I'm eating badly and every morning I get on the scale and it's less :Q

I had a problem for a few weeks where I couldn't stop losing even though I wasn't trying anymore. My metabolism seems to have leved off now . All I can say is that thanks to power walking I can really put away some groceries :)

A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle. A pound is a pound! The difference is in it's density. Muscle is more dense, thus it occupies less room than fat given the same measure of weight.

You are not eating badly at all! I mean, I don't know what you eat while you are at work, but around here, we eat GREAT! :)

That's what I was implying/inferring/whatever.

Damn those kitkat bars at work!!

IF you are eating that crap, then you deserve to be losing muscle and gaining fat! :disgust:

Big difference in what you said to what you were "implying".

Well, I know what he eats at home and it could be a model diet, well, what I see him eat anyhow! I don't know what he eats at work though....sigh.

Skoorb - you're losing muscle, and gaining fat. Simple as that. Obviously, you're gaining fat faster than you're losing muscle, and since it's less dense, you develop a paunch. Stop eating those damned KitKat bars and get your ass back to the gym!

MrsSkoorb - whip him into shape! Convince him to go to the gym. I suggest buying a tight jogging/training outfit ... if that doesn't get him moving then just enlist him for a couple months and let the drill Sgt take care of things. :D

We're hitting it back tomorrow morning :) The scheduling of going at night has been bothersome to us since we moved to birmingham. With me not home until 5:30 or 6:00 and then in bed 4.5 hours later losing 1/3 of that to the gym sucks royally, so we'll go in the mornings before work. I did that for a week a while back and found it was pretty good. Then I found lame excuses to stop going. Generally I'm not bad with the gym, but these past three weeks have been like the worst ever.

Have lots and lots of sex. You'll start burning calories and have fun at the same time...
