STOPPAGE during games

I get freezes, constantly, during games. It's not lag, it happens on GTA and Enemy Territory. I don't know what to do. I have the Atlantis Sapphire Radeon 9700 Pro... I dont have the latest drivers as I heard they were terrible.

Anyone ever heard of something like this/got a solution?

Oh, the freezes are only temporary,w we're talking 1 or 2 seconds, but that's enough to be REALLY annoying.
 
If your on about Vice City, its when it access`s the CD, it does that on mine, and my friends PC. It seems like its frozen, but it hasnt, its just accessing the CD.
