Stop waiting for 8INXP and take SINXP (8SQ800) instead?

I have been waiting for my 8INXP since early december now and getting a bit frustrated. Since yesterday the P4G8X is available for the first time here in Austria but I´d rather wait two weeks more for the 8INXP, I think its slightly better.

But waiting so long also has its advantages, waited so long might even be that the SiS655 boards will be available soon). Equal or better in performance, from what I have read at ocworkbench for half the price and Gigabyte even put a firewire on this board too to make it perfect.
So what do you think, will it be worth waiting, or will the realease such a catastrophy as the 8INXP release was/is?

Any guesses when this boards will be available (haha maybe might even overtake the 8INXP here if it continues to be so elusive)?

Thanks allready everyone!

The Gigabyte GA-SINXP1394 looks like the best P4 motherboard coming out (at least until the Canterwood chipset around April?). With the SIS chipset, it should be cheaper than the GA-8INXP, and includes the missing firewire (1394) from the 8INXP.

Anyone have any pricing (sugg. retail from Gigabyte says $210., but is available in Japan for around $170) or ETA info. on this board (it's out in Japan) in Europe or the US.?

Here are the only links I could find on it:

http://www.gigabyte.co.jp/nippon/8sinxp/infomation.htm

I found a bunch more links by doing a search under 8SQ800 Ultra2 and GA-SINXP1394...

I will start a thread on the SIS board...

The first, not really dependable pricing info I got is, that it will cost about half of what the 8INXP costs. not confirmed though..

I saw a price list for both the 8INXP and the GA-8SQ800UL2/SINXP1394 on an Australian site

MBDG10012 Gigabyte GA-8SQ800UL2-SIS655, 533FSB, 4PCI, AGP 8x, AC97, LAN, USB2.0 $ 425
MBDG10006 Gigabyte GA-8INXP, 8xAGP, AC97, SATA, 2xDDR266, 6PCI, GigLAN, Raid (ETA Feb '03) $ 475

www.pluscorp.com.au

The SIS MOBO isn?t as cheap as I had hoped by comparison to the GB MOBO

I have also been quoted $550 expected for the 8INXP from a few stores that don?t have anything in stock yet????

Of course AUD prices don?t necessarily mean anything to the rest of the world. I think sometimes the guys over hear just charge whatever they feel like. However maybe the price comparison between the two boards may give some indication as to the general price difference. As in Not Half the price of the GB

I emailed them asking for info havnt heard back yet.
