Why do I always get roommates who sneakily turn the air conditioning off every time I feel like being comfortable? It's southern california. It's been 95 degrees almost every day this month, and I come home and find the windows open and the air off? What the hell? We don't even pay for electricity.

My AC is set to 78 degrees, and sometimes even 80

It's not so bad in SoCal - at least it's not humid there, then you'd have a REAL excuse for complaining :p

If you don't pay electricity, that's ridiculous. My air would be on all the time. I live in AZ and my place is generally about 80 most of the time.

My wife does the same and we don't pay utilities either.

She says she is cold @ 78 yet when I wanted to move to FL we couldn't cause it was hot. WTF?

My wife likes to keep the AC around 70, I try to turn it up to 76 and she turns it back down. I need one of those lock boxes over it, to keep her out.

I would say you are the wife based on my experiences with women wantng to keep the place warmer.

Edit: Since I see you are in GA the light bill arguement won't fly. If your house is properly insulated and you have the right unit 76 will still run almost all day long.............

If you put the box over it, the air conditioner doesn't "feel" the effect of the air and it will actually stay on longer. During the winter, when my other roommates move back, the air will be on 24/7 because it will be 3 against 1.

They got ones that have holes in them, either that or stuff it with ice.

My AC stayed at 67, always. In fact, I finally broke the knob off to keep people from changing it up on me. Now that I have central air, it stays at 70. Year round. Period. Anything over 70 SUCKS HAIRY CHODE ENCRUSTED BUTT!

Fat people generally like the room colder than it needs to be because they get overheated and uncomfortable easily.

I keep mine at 70 when I'm home, but when I'm at work, I usually leave it at 76 to 78.
I can't wait for winter ... gonna keep my house between 56 and 60 all the time.

I HATE hot weather.

LOL, that sounds familiar. My wife will complain it's cold, meanwhile I'm sweating up a storm just sitting on the frigging couch. I'll go look a the thermometer and it will be 79 or 80.

The office I share with my coworker is a fvcking refrigerator. She likes it low 60s, even during winter. My poor hand using the mouse gets all cold and stiff.

I turn it up, but then she bitches about being too hot and not able to work.
