Last night, San Diego had a couple of minor earthquakes, and then a nice 5.9 magnitude, shook the whole damn house. Over the night, there were a couple of earthquakes as well and its just minor shakes that rile up your chair and get you a bit excited, but it's nothing big.

I could agree with you if the quakes were happening in AZ, NM, and TX...then you could claim that the US is trying to get rid of the giant suck-hole attached to its southwestern area, but no, sadly, only Kahleeforneeya seems to realize the suck-hole is draining the life blood out of its economy. (although Arizona seems to be waking to the fact.)
