hi,
recently i am noticing that few members are unnecessarily quoting their replies .......
somtimes they are doing it regularly as if it is a matter of fun ...........i strongly protest ............ one member should bear a minium responsibility to keep this forum clean........

if one has a desperate need to use it then he can use it, otherwise it must be banned ........because it lengthen the size of the article ............
do you agree with me????

Locked. because this thread has lost it's way.

Agreed.

OP, it is customary to provide examples of the nefarious behaviour's one is complaining about. Please do so as I do not really get what you are talking about.

Thank you,
KT

Ya, we need examples. I like banning people for nested quoting.

I think he means what I did just above this post... it lengthens the post and it is quite pointless...

 I assure you Olsmoboat knows EXACTLY what your talking about. He wasn't asking for a demonstration, he was asking for links to threads where the OP saw this.

At leat this OP, unlike you, didn't call another user out and then provide no proof of us accusations.

I was not calling another member out... I was just providing an example for what it is, an example! Now if he said links / proof that is totally different from what an example is. If you actually read the entire thread you probally would get the same conclusion that I got since KeithTalent specifically stated "Please do so as I do not really get what you are talking about." to the original poster. So do not call me out for helping another member in the thread try to interpret what the original poster is tring to say since the only person who truely understands it is the original poster!

...

I agree with SickBeast that "Off Topic" is at times poorly moderated as I see alot of the members who post there get flamed for no reason when they post something. One name that comes to mind is "Ponifex"(?) who immediately flames someone's post by saying "because you were born!".

You called out Ponifex without providing any proof then had the nerve to add:

If you want me to find that thread then keep waiting

Calling out other members without proof isn't overly condusive to your ability to continue posting.

I was just providing an example for what it is, an example! Now if he said links / proof that is totally different from what an example is.

If you really think a senior moderator who's been here 7 years doesn't know what nested quotes are you have bigger problems then trying to argue symantics with me.

original poster is tring to say since the only person who truely understands it is the original poster!

We understand the original poster fine, thank you.

I have no idea what to say about your stupity here for posting something I posted in a completely different thread and expect me to know what you were talking about in this thread when you say I was calling a member out... go ahead and ban me you stupid fuck!

While we are more tolerant than before about what is posted at Anandtech, mod abuse is not one of them, and never will be. See you in a week.

Since, at the time, you had posted it just moments before in the same forum, I thought the hint might ring a bell with you. Apparently I was mistaken.

go ahead and ban me you stupid ...!

The irony of your statement is your other complaint was :

6) Foul language in topic titles and excessive foul language is not permitted. With uncensored language comes an increased requirement for responsibility among users. Moderator discretion applies.

are never followed is probally why alot of members do not post anything in fears of retailiation from others for no apparent reason at all.

I'll be happy to move my comments on calling out that user to the other thread if you prefer. But I strongly suggest you edit your post in this tread.
