thanx for the app :)

I could've written this in Visual Basic in about 3 hours.
It took 15 hours in Visual C++, but it was good for my future job (which I hope to find sometime soon :))

I use FreeBSD, otherwise i would have tried it, will try it in XP when i run it... thanx man...

What is this popup made of on this page, the arcadex one.

http://www.arcadeathome.com/

I don't know. If you right-click it and it does not show the Flash meny ("Settings", "About Flash", etc), then it's not Flash. My program does not do regular popups :)

So what happens when you go to my site (link below) that requires flash? If it doesn't detect it, then it should go to a "noflash" page automatically... does this happen ?

Cause I don't like installing stuff I don't need... don't take it the wrong way, looks like you did a good job of it.. but useless to me.

By the looks of the logs I get, it does drop you guys to the NOFLASH page.

Every time you start IE? Or every time you visit a Flash-enabled page?
What version of Windows an IE?
My program does not do that. Internet Explorer is not even aware that Flash is disabled. Did you manually change your Internet Explorer security settings? Can you E-mail me a screenshot of the message? BlueAndFast@yahoo.com

I tried it out on two systems and it doesnt work on one.
Version 0.61 works on win2k with ie 5.00 but version 0.62 doesnt work on win98 with ie 5.5.
If i disable flash the nag/install screen still pop's up when i visit a flash website.

yea, I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 with Win2K. It just happens once or when I start a new instance of IE. Once I say no then I can then visit all the flash sites I want and it will never ask again. I'll send you a cap.

>Did you manually change your Internet Explorer security settings?

no I didn't change anything. My security is Internet Zone and privacy is set to Medium.

I like flash, It's javascript I think is evil. Both are infuriating when abused by people who just don't realize they're making something stupid or ugly.

TIP: Include your puney instructions in a readme.txt or install.txt in the zip archive. It's pretty easy to install, but, I closed all my broswer windows including this one before I opened it then I wasn't sure if it was supposed to go into a special dir or just any dir. Anyway, might help someone else who's too lazy to copy/paste into notepad or something. Or someone else like me who has a short attention span / memory.

You do know that a pop up stopper called Free Surf does the exact same thing. It doesn't block via proxy.

Ok, will do. I can use an installer of some sort, but that will add a huge overhead (program size: 16 KB, installer size: 64 KB+). My puney instructions ;)

More of a compliment = easy to install. I just forgot what they were after I went back to install it, all I remembered was I needed to close all my IE stuff and then I didn't remember. No biggie, works great. Stops inline ads in the local news page, Sun-Sentinel.com, put's a little 'x' in the corner where they formerly were.

I guess I haven't had to worry about this lately after installing a good pop-up blocker...I almost kind of miss swearing at my monitor when those infernal flash ads come up :)
