Stop Errors on a Dell E1705

I recently purchased a Dell E1705 (2.0Ghz Core Duo, 2GB 667 RAM, 80GB 7200HD, 256MB 7900GS) and have been running two instances of an online RPG. Within a few days I started getting a 0x0000007F stop error and after installing and re-installing things like Video drivers and updates I recently expanded the virtual memory to use the HD. After doing that I played for a solid 4-6 hours without a problem.

The next day I loaded up the game again and roughly an hour into the session I received a new stop error, 0x00000050 (Page Fault). After rebooting the error was reported to windows and a message was sent to me saying the problem was caused by my graphics driver.

I'm using the latest version of the driver so I really have no clue what to do. The next thing I'll be trying will be to use Dell's system restore and reinstall my programs. This type of issue is over my head. If anyone knows of a way to narrow down a problem like this I could sure use some advice.

Also the stop errors have always been sporatic. Sometimes I play for 4-5 hours without one and other times I get 3 in 20 mins.

Thanks,
Inkling

Definitely run Dell Diagnostics. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to run prime95 and memtest86, to check the RAM.

Some games still have occasional hiccups with a dual core processor. AMD has a "dual core optimization" fix on their website, which is basically a repackaging of a hotfix MS issued a few months back. It cured occasional lockups in COD2 for me. Might be worth trying.
