Stop Error Blues

This problem is way out of my league, so I would like some outside input guys.

I am running a Western Digital 160GB PATA drive and a Maxtor 40GB PATA drive in my main computer. This was not a problem until I decided to reformat the Maxtor and use it as a Linux drive (10GB for linux, 30 GB or so for FAT32 to share data) This was perfect in theory, but in practice it was a whole another story

Before I started, my boot sector must have been a little wonky. To succsesfully boot into Windows required that I have my XP disk in my drive. This was of course a pain, but a necessary evil. In my attempts to install Linux, I installed GRUB to the MBR of the Primary drive (the WD) and in doing so managed to mess everything up. =/ Even installing linux with the Maxtor as primary will not gain a response and a succsessful boot into either OS. I have since reformatted both drives using a low level utility (HDD Guru Low Level tool) and get this interesting error message when I attempt to install Windows. Setup checks my configuration and etc, then begins to load the files required to install Windows. The last message I see on the gray bar at the bottom of the screen is "Setup is now loading Windows..." After that, the screen goes black and then blue and I am greeted with this:

A problem has been detected with your computer and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage. etc etc, check for viruses, make sure everything is plugged in right.

The only useful information I can garner from that screen is greek to me but hopefully someone here will be able to make sense of, the STOP code.

"STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

Sorry if this is too little information to help, but you guys are my last hope and that's all the info I've been able to get.
