STOP CRYING ABOUT STEROIDS

Barry Bonds just hit himself another home run. Already.

So much for him only being good at FVCKING 41 because of steroids.

I am so tired of hearing people whine about steroids. Shut the hell up already. Performance enhancements will always be in sports, legally or illegally. Are you going to put an asterisk after every athlete with a record after the invention of Gatorade? How about a double asterisk after the perfection of reconstructive knee surgeory that allows an injured running back with a blown out knee to play another 10 years? Or maybe a triple after they made the ball in MLB livelier so that it would fly farther?

As time goes on, current athletes will ALWAYS have some sort of an advantage on the ones in the past, no matter what. Its just the way it is. Sure we'd like to see the old greats hold their records forever, but lets face it, it just won't happen. Todays athletes are bigger, faster, stronger, using steroids or not....and you know what? In 10 years, the stuff they will be able to mask will have 10x the affect that current steroids have.

So seriously, stop fvcking whining.....

I hate baseball. But look at the NFL. The senate or someone is complaining about the 4 game suspension for steroids, like its not enough. 4 games! Thats more than if he got caught with crack. Thats 1/4 the season. Thats like getting suspended 40 games in baseball. Are these old farts just too stupid to understand that?

Steroids, unlike gatorade and knee surgery, are illegal. So there goes that assinine argument. It's funny how you start your post saying bonds doesn't use steroids, then spend the rest of the time coming up with excuses as to why its ok to use steroids. You sound like a BALCO spokesman with your, hey its ok to have some players cheat and the others to get by on hard work as long as i can have bonds jock strap at the end of the day.

No bigdog, read the subtitle of this thread, you're wrong. You will be wrong no matter what you say in this thread, too.

Bonds is good without steroids. But you know what? He still has massive advantages that Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron never had. It doesn't matter if he does steroids or not, he has an advantage over previous athletes. Legal or not, he uses enhancements. Am I saying that its right to use steroids? Nah, but many many many of them still do, and they keep getting better and better, and so do the legal ones. Fact of the matter is, record books ARENT sacred and fair, and they wont be.

You steroid monkeys are whining for all the wrong reasons. You aren't complaining that he's hurting himself. You aren't complaining about the risks of steroids, you are whining about your precious record books, WHICH ARE TAINTED NO MATTER WHAT.

There. I'm right, you're wrong, you can try to argue, but you're still wrong.

jesus, are you really that arrogant? of course every record will one day be broken. i just expect it to be on the up and up, without shooting sh!t into their arms, or a shake, or a pill.

but im the asshole for expecting these athletes to at least be honest about their performance? get a clue.

edit: the only reason the books are tainted is because training is different than it used to be. back then, players didnt spend 8hrs a day working out. they spent that time drinking and womanizing.

Yes, I'm arrogant, because I'm right.

They can't take a shake, but they can take protein supplemants, or drink Gatorade during the games. Legal enhancements are still enhancements, and you are wrong if you think otherwise. Flat out. In your own (but in your case wrong) words, 'get a clue'.

wow. thats just sad.

People just need to realize professional athletes are entertainers just like Actors and Actresses. None of the owners or the media cares if the game is fair as long as people are in the seats and watching the games. They will bend all the rules they need to as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Yea, its sad that I can shoot you down with such efficiency. Makes you look back on your foolishness and wonder why you could possibly think such false things, eh?

I think my myspace profile under tv shows says 'tv doesn't come on unless sox or pats are playing'

Protein and electrolytes are hardly what I would consider "enchancements." 😛 Jesus...
It's not like drinking too many shakes will have an adverse effect on your body... aside from maybe bad gas and the sh1ts.
Protein shakes don't make you grow tits either. 😛

Personally, I'm against steroid use because it sets a moral standard for younger generations. Oh, my hero Mr. Bonds shoots up, so I guess it's okay for me. "Tainting the spirit of the game" is, to me, simply a secondary result... probably because I'm not a rabid fan (though I will go to a Mariner's game or two if they're doing alright 😉).

only a fool knows he is 100% right without fault.

no one expects records to be broken. but what good are records if the playing field isnt even?

besides, the whole point is mute. baseball, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, pong, and the wnba is all a business. whatever? it takes to pump up profit is fine by the powers that be.

so why give a sh!t? surely someone who is right can see this?

Obviously, hence why there are things like smaller ballparks and a more lively ball.

Oh, right, things I said already.

Hence why I said ALL records are tainted, not just steroid related ones.

do you hold a record in higher esteem if its not a steroid tainted one?

edit: what makes older records tainted in the same notion as steroids?

No, I don't, because if someone breaks a record, he still had an advantage. Emmitt Smith may not have used steroids, but he still had advantages even Walter Peyton didn't have.

Older records are tainted, because, well, no matter how far back you go....every knew player has some sort of an advantage over the other. Is it fair that Marvin Harrison always had Peyton Manning to throw to him? What if Joe Horn had Peyton Manning? Maybe he'd be the best receiver of our day. There are so many variables, so many unfair circumstances & whatnot, you just can't single one out and whine about it, simply because its illegal. Sure, that makes it something to complain about, but not in the sense most people do. Steroids are bad because they are harmful to the athletes, because they are a bad example for kids, not beacuse they "ruin the competativeness of the game" or beacuse "they taint the recordbooks".

My actual opinions on the matter aside...

Deeko, you're cool and all, but comparing steroids to gatorade is pretty moronic. That's like saying doing crack is no big deal because I can do legal drugs anyway, like caffeine.

You misinterpret me.

I never said steroids were ok, and that its ok to do them. I just get tired of the incessant whining. Oh, Palmerio should have an asterisk next to his name, he did steroids. Oh, the Senate wants to know why the NFL isn't cracking down on steroids, DESPITE PUNISHMENTS FOR STEROIDS BEING HARSHER THAN FOR ANY OTHER ILLEGAL DRUG!

The fact is, sure, steroids are bad mmmmkay, but their effect on the record books is completely negligible compared to other factors I have named.
