I just bought all these parts. I have a 7800gt amd 64 3200+ 2gb or ram and a 500wat allied psu. I get this error when i play bf2 or just games. I thought i was the psu so i bought a allied psu. I would go into a infinite loop. My mb is are480ms made by msi. I has a ati chipset while i have a nvidia card. Will that interfere? Please respond

I see. Did you also see that turning down hardware acceleration was just a step in troubleshooting?

If you have an A64 CPU, make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your CPU, mobo, including chipset drivers, audio drivers if using onboard or not. And make sure you have the latest WHQL nvidia drivers which I believe are the 78.01's.

Well, if you aren't going to turn of acceleration, lets look at the other things.

Drivers, what version? A different device driver may fix this.

Do you use the same setting in all games? Change your resolution up or down, or even use a different sync rate. Sometimes a display driver can act up in just one setting and be fine in others. Change your desktop setting too.

I would update audio anyway, but they would not cause this error.

Quote from my PM to you:

"I think it is safe to say that you need to make sure ALL latest drivers are installed. Including:

CPU driver from AMD website
Motherboard drivers from motherboard makers website (ALL of them)
Sound Card drivers (if using onboard sound, the motherboard makers website will have them)
Video card drivers from Nvidia's website.

I'm going to try this one more time. Turning down hardware acceleration was just for troubleshooting purposes.
Only temporary to try and find your problem. You didn't read the MS article otherwise you would have known that. First, get your system working, that is first in line. Worry about performance later. Because if your system is not working, you have ZERO performance now don't you?

Let me know if you need some help.

Keys"

Have you done any of this yet?
And why arent you understanding that the acceleration thing is just to test with? WHY!!!!

Well, actually, it is a workaround, not a diagnostic step, and the article does note that you will lose some performance.

ok i just installed amd drivers. I havent had problems yet but i have only been playing for 30 min. Also now if hardware acceleration doesnt work wat should i do. Do you know why i got that bsod? Also in bf2 i only get 30fps average is it because my wireless internet is causing it. I lowered to teh resoulution and all the settings are at high. I have the card oc a little but not
alot and i do have 2gb of ram but 2 sticks are generic. So 2 corsair and 2 generic each 512x 4
