The incident happened around two months ago, but they just now have charged him. Must be nice.

Lol, he'll probably get community service and a hefty fine.

He left the WWE basically because he threw a temper tantrum. He didn't like the direction the creative writers were taking (presumably with his character), and he decided that he was going to up and leave. He just decided to not show up twice to events he was scheduled to perform at, and the WWE got p/o'd and took him off the active list.

I think he was suppose to be coming back at some point in the future though.

I remember seeing a sign on Smackdown shortly after the police were initially called to his house about something along the lines of beating his wife, dunno how that got past the censors

Anyway it sucks that he would throw away everything he had

He was upset that he was being pushed down the card after so long on top. He didnt like the Mania buildup to his match with Hall. It wasnt that he didnt want to work with hall (he was friends with the hall & nash) but he thought they could have did a lot better then they did. Then he was being booked for a lot of comedy spots and he thought "Stone Cold" should be a serious character and comedy should be used for other people. Then the final thing was the night he walked out he was booked in a match with Brock in a King of the Ring qualifier match, which he was suppose to lose. He felt that the match was too soon for Brock (who had been on tv for only 2 months at that point) and even though he was beating "Stone Cold" that it wouldnt have the meaning that it would, should it take place down the line.
Both sides are to blame partially but he walked out (without giving notice) twice in three months and they didnt want to risk it happening again so they didnt bother to try to bring him back. Pending something HUGE he will be back but only after things subside for Austin and the two parties can work out an agreement.

Smolek said it well...

From what I've heard, he didnt like the idea of getting beat by Brock at Summer Slam like the Rock is about to do....

The World Wildlife Federation owns the WWF as a trademark.

Recently the Wrestling folk changed to WWE to avoid that complication.

I'm not entirely sure why...they coexisted just fine for years. But something changed....
