So my dad was talking to one of his friends and they got their stomach stapled. The guy says it takes him hours to drink soda.

We then can to a question, let's say this guy does some exercise and needs to drink alot, water...w/e wouldn't he be limited to how much he can drink and could easily get dehydrated?

:hmm:

Probably. There are a lot of lifestyle changes that come about from that surgery. Basically, the stomach does slowly stretch to a larger size, but as long as he takes it easy he physically can't eat enough to maintain his current size. Any strenuous exercise comes later.

The people that are unsuccessful, as I understand it, are the ones who try and eat too much too soon. Yeah, they'll vomit a lot and such, but they'll also eventually stretch their stomach back to a size where they can maintain their obesity.

Basically, the guy needs to follow the plan the doctor wrote for him. That probably doesn't include running just yet. Probably doesn't include soda either.

i feel like having your stomach stapled would only limit the amount of solid food you can have.

If there were any remote possibility that this guy was going to do any exercise whatsoever, he wouldn't have needed to get his stomach stapled.

Tell him Soda is bad.

Also tell him to look at the next bite of food he takes, and imagine that in the context of his stomach. One big bite of chicken, or what have you, should let him see that his stomach is happy, and partially full.

2nd bite pretty much fills the stomach, and his body will have plenty of fuel.

3rd bite, when it just tastes too good. Which is not often, if you really taste your food.

So, in short, teach him to satisfy himself.

One or too bites, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

And no soda. Water is the staff of life.

BTW, I was talking about normal man, not stomach stapled Man.

Hopefully he can do one or two completely pleasurable bites, and then realize his stomach (should be) is full, and stop.

And cola is no good. Just water, please. Water can be very pleasurable.

Normal people do not and should not eat 2 bites of food per meal, if they are eating 3 meals a day.

Nope, even liquids go into the stomach. This is why they say you should drink water before and during your meal to help limit how much you eat because it can make you fuller faster.

Stomach staplings suck. Although for people without the brass to starve themselves down it's better than the alternative.

Guys, I am not asking advise for the guy, or anything.

Just on the question about hydrating for strenuous work, does not need to be exercise.

but I guess if you have that procedure done, you wont be doing any of that stuff right away.

exercise is the last thing that anyone who is a fat fuck and needs to get their stomach stapled to lose weight is going to be doing.

What I meant to say was that having your stomach stapled wouldn't increase the time it takes to down a cup of soda.

I've got a family friend that had a gastric bypass... dehydration is a major concern and I'm pretty sure she was told by her doctor not to drink carbonated drinks anymore.

Drinking in moderation which is required for exercise can be accomplished as long as the stomach is empty. The biggest problem comes with the consumption of liquid on a full stomach. The contents of the stomach absorb the liquid and swell. This is a very bad thing. Drinking carbonated sodas are even worse.

OK, 8 bites of food/per meal.

The point is that one should visualize each bite going down into the stomach.

The stomach is some small, mysterious thing to most of us, and eight bites of food will certainly fill it.

We don't need all that much food (calories) with a sedentary life style. It's an easy rule to follow. Imagine your stomach accepting, that bite.

It's full, and you should feel full too. You have given yourself the energy required for the next 6 hours.

I wonder if they can use other office products on your stomach.

I'm going to look into having my stomach photocopied, and then maybe White-Outted.
