Ok, since the MODs locked my thread in Hot Deals I'll move it here. I ordered some rounded cables from SVCompucycle last week and USPS.com says it was delivered on Thursday (3/21/02). The tracking number confirms it. However, I have yet to see it. I have left a notice at my apartment building mailboxes in hopes that someone may of seen it outside (since USPS is stupid and does this sometimes, real smart when you live in an area with tons of people around) and picked it up and just haven't been able to get ahold of me. I can't call SVC or UPS because they are closed. I have a feeling that I'm going to get screwed, is there anything I can do? If I report it stolen will I get reimbursed or will it just go onto the bottom of the pile? Has anyone had to deal with this before?

Thanks,
Ethan

Because I was a moron and said to call UPS in the other thread when I meant USPS, and he copy-pasted it without checking :D

Why don't you read what Harvey had to say in your other thread. I don't think there is anything else we could tell you to do.

mimendo,

I posted again because I'm hoping that someone who has had to deal with this before can tell me what they went through and if they we're able to get reimbursed.

PsychoAndy,

Yeah, I am calling the Post Office not UPS. That was a typo, sorry.

If you don't have anything nice to say, please don't say it. I can't call either party right now and am just trying to relieve some frustration by asking if anyone has dealt with this before. I'm sure this has happened to others and I'm hoping for some personal experience.

as I recall, if you don't leave a message/handwritten note instructing them to leave the package when you aren't there and they do and it ends up being stolen then it's not your responsibility/fault and should be reimbursed. If you did then it's your own fault because u took that risk, but it sounds like you didn't and so it should be their fault

You sure that you have to do that when shipped Priority? I know that when it comes UPS or Fedex you need to sign something, but I don't think thats the case with Priority, and no I didn't sign anything. If I can file a claim and get my $40 back that would be nice. The worst part about it is just thinking that someone would steal my mail. It really makes me upset. :disgust:

ive had stuff delivered priority mail before, and at least in my case, treated it like any other piece of mail.. ring the door bell a few times and leave it on the doorstep.. and the stuff i get from ups lately have been doing that as well.. on the other hand, i would guess that express mail is handled differently since it's their premium service.. probably requires a signature..

good luck exorr.
