Stolen Camera Found With Pictures Intact

MENASHA, Wis. - When their photographer's camera was stolen shortly after they exchanged vows, Karen and Tory Nordlinder figured they'd never have keepsakes of their wedding day.

This week, they got a pleasant surprise when the camera turned up in a vacant lot near a lake, a year after it disappeared.

The lot's owner, Leslie Mason, said that her son was cutting down trees and spotted the camera. Inside was contact information for the photographer, Charles Boesen, Mason said.

When he got it back, Boesen plugged the camera's memory card into his computer and the photos appeared instantly.

"My reaction, I almost cried," Boesen said. "I'm thinking, this bride is going to be so overjoyed when she finds out."

"There's no telling how long that camera was down here," he said. "What's amazing is how those pictures survived the elements _ the rain, the snow, the freezing temperatures, right alongside the lake."

Karen Nordlinder said she couldn't express how happy she was to see the photos.

"We just thought, 'Oh well, we've got our memories,'" she said. "This is just something I never thought we'd see. Ever."

Scenario: Photographer is done shooting a wedding, begins loading equipment in to his car, ... leaves the door unlocked because he's going to carry some lights out in a moment, camera is on the seat... asswipe walks up, opens the door, takes camera... Not like he put it on his front door step after he got home and hoped it would be there in hte morning, I'm sure.

I have to wonder... why whoever stole the camera left it near some lake instead of pawning it?

Photographer was careless and lost it. Then filed a police report to get it covered by insurance. There is no logical reason for a theif to steal a camera, and then just hide it.

wow just wow. Anyway for those that can afford such items, usually they are keeping every gadget they one strapped to their bodies.

If you ever find someone to marry you it may be wise to put the blackberry, camera, laptop and gps down somewhere prior to your dance.

The real scenario:

After an all nighter of lasciviousness at a lakeside motel the wanton couple wobbly legged and bleary eyed load up the car heading out to their next stop. When they arrive and the camera is missing one of them is so embarrassed that they left it on top of the car, with the important photos in it, they decide not to fess up and just say it is stolen rather than stilt an otherwise perfect honeymoon. Now, that it has turned up one of them has decided to keep the lie fostering a wonderful tale to tell their children and relatives and suckers for happy ending stories around the world.

End. lol

More like he was down by the lake after the reception smoking a fatty, forgot where he placed the camera, ended up saying it was stolen.

I mean really who steals a digital camera and doesnt wipe out the memory card? Or take the whole camera home for that matter. The camera was found by the lake after a year with the mem card still in it, untouched, and the camera was supposedly stolen, I dont think so.

Like I said, misplaced, and so not to look like a ass for losing it said it was stolen.

*edit* after reading the rest of the posts looks like I wasnt the only one to think this up :p

Not sure how far away from the wedding/reception it was.

Quite simply could have been a kid there just picked it up and just left it after playing with it.

There are many stories of toddlers taking a valuable and trying to flush it down the toilet, etc. Having a kid just walk away with something and place it somewhere else is not hard to fathom.
