I have a limit order on Etrade right now, and it's not selling. Does this mean that there is no one currently looking to buy for that price?

I also put in all or none...so say I had 1,000 shares, and someone wanted 1,100 shares, would my order execute?

This is pissing me off. I think I might give Scottrade a chance...

I think your 1000 shares would sell if someone else wanted 1100.
Limit orders can be a hassle. If I'm ready to cut a stock loose, I usually check the current sell price and set my limit a little higher than that.
If you set your limit too high, it will just lay there adding to your frustration.

This past weeks hits...
BRL - bought about 11 months ago around $56 per share... stock had a 3 for 2 split... sold this week for $74 per share. :D
IFLO - bought about 8 years ago at $4 per share... sold this week for $11.25 per share. :)

Those are nice returns. Did you slap down your hard earned money to buy them when they were lower? :p

Anyone know of a feature rich (free... no subscribing), stock screen site?
I want to screen using multiple variables at the same time. Most screens I've seen don't offer enough variety.

Wish I'd gotten in on Cisco back in October, when it was at 8.... up to 21 now... nice return in just under a year.

msn.com -> Money (Next to the hotmail link on top) -> Type in a stock ticker -> Install MSN Delux. Its a small download, and really gives alot of good options for chart types and search types.

I'm looking for a good stock screen, to screen through thousands of companies for performance characteristics.
I don't need lots of technical info. about a single company. :)

I didn't see an "MSN Delux".

I found it... "MSN Money Deluxe". ;)

So you did find it? Its more of a plug in for IE I think. Did it do what you want?

Also, is there a good investment forum? Kinda like how some people have set up other forums from ATOT (health forums, etc) has anyone done one for investing?

Blain: What you need is advanced analyzer from Ameritrade Apex, its awesome for screening all the stocks and selecting those based on certain characteristics. It's so friggin powerful, but I havnet had the time to sit down and learn how to use it perfectly.

There are tons of technical indicators that it can look for in all the stocks.

Hellfreeze: I usually set limit orders, bt do NOT use all or none. e.g. today I flipped a share for 1 cent gain. I bought at the buy, and sold at the ask, I bought and sold 5000 shares, giving me $50 - $22 profit. But Ididnt use all or none, otherwise I would have never been able to sell. My 5000 shares sold in 5 partials (1000, then 250, then 2200 etc) and took about 5 minutes for all to go through. Because it was broken up, it could find buyers more easily.

I used to use all or none when I was a newbie, and quickly changed my way once I realized that there are no extra commissions for partials, just one for a buy and one for a sell, independent of the # of partial trades to execute an order.

Good luck in your future trades.

Eli,
You Are The Man! ;)
I just configured my first search. It's all I was looking for and more! Talk about a tweakers dream! :D

I love to compare companies to their industry group. I didn't see any options for screening in specific industry groups. :(
