Seriously maybe a favorite candy/fruit.

Good place to put batteries / accessories for main gifts.

homeade gift certificates for doing dishes, watching the kids, a night out at the movies etc.

Do you have a Michael's store in your area? They have a couple big sections of $1 items with some being pretty nice. I bought a bunch of dinky things there for my SO's stocking. Can also try your local dollar store. Stocking items aren't meant to be expensive and super nice. Just use your imagination and I'm sure she'll love it. When it comes to stockings, I prefer to fill them up with a lot of cheap but thoughtful/practical items (and candy) as opposed to 2-3 costly items. Save that for the actual gifts you plan to give her.
