Don't know how true this is, but it's funny. :)

If you bought $1000 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.

If you bought $1000 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, and traded in the cans for the nickel/aluminum deposit, you would have $79.

It is therefore financially prudent in these troubled times to drink heavily and recycle.

so it's not like you're making money.
you're just getting your money back... without any interest.

:)

in that dude's case.. at least he got some back.
49 is still better than 0.

and yes... stocks can hit 0

True on both the deposit and stock hitting 0.

We don't pay deposit for cans here in TX, but you can sell the alum for like $0.25 per pound. :D
