Is the vcore setting in the bios set to default? I noticed on mine that when I fixed the voltage in the bios, to say 1.26v, I got MUCH better temps than when it is set to auto. I am running a 680i mobo though, I do not know if that makes a difference.

Right now I am running my b3 q6600 at 3Ghz with a vcore fixed at 1.26 and I am getting better temps than that at idle (around 32C right now, 47,46,43,45 core temps). Results were taken with the same version of speedfan you have, and also with Everest Ultimate.

core temps are the temps below the IHS on the actual CPU. They're more accurate. That's not terribly bad temps. Try going higher on your FSB and see what it gets you.

This must be high right?

Your system temp and CPU idle temp are reading the same..so you may want to look at improving the airflow in your case. Load temps are more important, so you need to max out the cpu and see what kind of temps you are getting. I was hitting 85c core temp with my Q6600 at 3.1ghz at 100% load using a scythe ninja. Get around 65c core temp with water cooling. Also, speefan reads the core temps 15c lower than they actualy are with the quad core, due to the fact that it sets the Tjunction to 85c, when it's acutaly 100c for the quads. There is an option to adjust the offsets to make it accurate.
