Wow, the market is dying a horrible death right now.

--AMD is back down to 19.93 from 24.1 or so before the election.
--Home Depot, which was up to over 42, is now back at 36.5, off 2.313 today!
--Intel is down FOUR today (9.2%), to 37.375. Ouch!
--Dell is down 17% after comments about growth potential for next year (could it have anything to do with the lack of offerings from AMD-powered systems?).
--Hewlett-Packard is down 8.5%.

Might be some sweet buying opportunities here when the dust settles.

I see HP as the weakest one there from what little I know...Home Depot could be the strongest... at least if the two new stores in my area are any indication :)

Fuel cell technology is looking to be a fairly long-term buy...but then I only buy mutual funds anyway, can't risk getting burned on stock purchases when I can virtually gaurantee 10+% annually with a mutual fund.

AMD was rated at $27 for a 12 month outlook just recently, and that's probably a fair assumption from where it dropped, considering that it's P/E is VERY low (7-8). AMD has a strong presence in the flash memory market which has seen exceptionally high demand with no signs of slowing.

Home Depot has a very good future since it's unlikely to have its market disappear. It dropped through the floor a few months ago and has been steadily climbing until recently when it has fallen along with everything else.

I wouldn't buy any of the retail computer outfits -- Compaq, HP, Dell, Gateway. Too much uncertainty for them.

Yeah, WTF...I thought the market was going to make a nice rally after a dismal October...and the nasdaq comp closes at 3029 today! AMD and Intel seemed to be enjoying a nice upswing, then Nov 7 had to roll around (although Dell's news didn't help either).

I'm sorry, but now I have a real reason to dislike politics.

Does anyone know any publicly traded companies that sell voting machines? I have a feeling there may be an upsurge in that business over the next four years.
