The markets close on weird days. For example, we get off for Good Friday, but not Veterans Day.

Ya, I work for a defense contractor and it's wired like that. We get off religious holidays but not holidays that are non-religious? I'm surprised I get labor day of sometimes.

I get 10 holidays per year.

Here's my vacation:

0-10 years: 2 weeks
10-20 years: 3 weeks
20+ years: 4 weeks

I'm at 5 years so I get 2 weeks. IT SUCKS. Won't matter in 10 years though when I QUIT!

wow only 2 years vaca after 5-10 years on the job really sucks... I don't know why you are waiting that long to quit.

Pay is pretty good. That's the only reason. Job security is VERY good to. I fear going to a small company and getting laid off in 2 years. I have a 10 year plan though, so at 15 years of service, I am done. I also plan on using unpaid vacation in the future. I'll probably start doing that in several years.

I HATE YOU! just joking. My employed changed the policy several years before I came on board. 3 weeks of vacation time was given after 5 years at one point. That's fair enough. But 10 years is rediculous.

You got shafted like I did. I started out with 2 weeks vacation and then it jumped to 3 after 5 years. Suddenly after 3.5 years, because "the employees spoked" they made it 3 weeks until your 10th year. Now I'm waiting to become fully vested in my pension and then I'm out... I hope
