I'd expect this to go below your stop-loss and for you to be sold out by next week. So you should net about $420 minus commissions (depending on actual sale price, a penny stock on the way down doesn't always attract a lot of buyers). The stock might be a long-term buy, but such volatility dictates that a low will follow that high. Best bet in that case would be to cash out at a reasonable stop-loss (like what you've set), then reinvest later when the stock hits bottom.

The OP is not illegal, unless the OP is an insider (which seems highly unlikely).

The stock is going nuts; people think the news coming Thursday or early next week will be good. I think it'll have good things to report as well. All the indicators are saying buy and the thing keeps going up. This could be a $3-$10 stock.

I bought at $0.88...currently at $1.20..

Example eleventy-billion why you should ignore hot stock tips, and why most people should avoid individual stocks in favor of stock-based index funds like Vanguard.com's VFINX.

$10 stock? No, $0.80 stock. Pump-and-dump stock scam FTL! Yahoo

But I'm getting ready to dump my shares once ATOT suckers push the S&P 500 index up another 30% - 40%!

;)

(I need to get ATOT members buy $15-20 billion worth of VFINX to do that, but I like a challenge :) )

Exactly my point...why pump the S&P 500 in the form of VFINX in ATOT when it makes no difference. I think the underlying point is valid, few funds and individual investors beat the S&P 500 over time, but truthfully in all the freaking time's I've seen you mention VFINX, I never even knew that it was just an S&P 500 tracking fund until I just looked it up 25 minutes ago.

Made you look.

But seriously, the expense ratio (annual management fee) for S&P 500 index funds varies widely. Vanguard's VFINX S&P 500 fund has had one of the lowest fees for decades, and they've kept it consistently low while others such as Fidelity have played games with temporary teaser rates they raise up later.

I pump VFINX because it's one of the best starter funds for the new investor, and it's simpler to just suggest it and let people do a little reading on their own if they want to know more.

/thread :p

I'm sure people that are interested in investing may eventually look it up, but I don't think too many know that the S&P 500 is usually a best bet for long term investments, and your relentless salemanship for a particular fund (whether or not VFINX has excellent an excellent cost structure)is probably confusing to many (if not annoying :p). ;)

I've always heard good things about vanguard tho, no argument there.

I was going to say to set up stop order at certain price so that you'll make a profit regardless....I guess its a little too late.

A stop order is an order set up that automatically sell your stock at market price when the stock reach that price.

Ei: If you set up a stop order at $1.00 when the stock at $1.20. If the stock comes down to $1.00. The broker would automatically executive a market sell order....you would most likely get $.98-0.99 depend on the liquidity (volume) of the stock.

I put in a stop and was out at $1.08.

Still like the company long term.
