Stock CPU Temps

Is there a web site that publishes a list of CPU temperatures based on using stock heatsink and fan? I'm looking for the coolest running processor above 1 Ghz. The system is to fit in a small closet with little air flow. It will be used for basic Internet usage and word processing. thanks.

I do not know of one. However I can assume that on intels guidelines that the stock processors with Heatsink and fan will stay within operating range. Also, you could try looking at some reviews of processor. Sometimes they mention how good the stock fans work.

If all else fails use an external or internal or both fans to help cycle the air. Yes it might be the same air, but the more you move it the cooler it will be...I think!

Good Luck!

Do Intel and AMD maintain a database on how much power is drained by the processor? I just saw a mention on Tom's saying that a 2GHz P4 Williamette core "dissipates up to 75 W of heat." It was also mentioned that the 2Ghz and faster Northwood cores ony dissipate 50-65 watts.

Thanks a bunch! Is it safe to say that temps are relative to wattage, with Intel CPUs running slightly cooler due to the heat spreader?
