Stock cooling fan vs AC Silencer 5 rev 3 (is it worth it?)

With the AC Silencer installed it seems like I was able to lower the temps on my 7800Gt card around 5degree c to 7degree c than stock fan. I'm thinking to overclock the card down the road. Is it worth the effort + $$ ? Your inputs, please?

Stock fan:
Idle=51c
Load = mid 60c to high 70c (depending on games)

AC Silencer:
Idle=44c
Load = high 50c to mid 60c

EDITED: Is after market cooling kit a MUST for overclocking your new g/c? Your opinions?

The NV5 is cheap, a nobrainer to install on a 7800GT, silent and moves the hot air out of the case. Thats exactly what I wanted and therefore bought it. And I'm happy with it. Yes it was worth it.

It's a good idea to upgrade the cooling on any component when overclocking is your objective, this includes ram, motherboard chipsets, cpu's and most definetly video cards. If your going to be pushing hard I would even recommend water cooling the card...

to answer your question. no you dont need a new cooling hs/f. the stock will be perfectly fine. Upgrading mught give you a increase in frequency you can overclock, but it's not guranteed. As long as you're smart and you make sure when overclocked it dosent reach around 90-100*c, which it shouldnt do, you'll be fine.

I'm a fan of these myself even though I don't O/C...

KO stock

idle:
GPU1 50C
GPu2 51C

load
GPU1 79C
GPu2 83C

NV5 Silencer

idle:
GPU1 45C
GPu2 43C

load
GPU1 69C
GPu2 64C

Those are truly the best IMO... If my ASUS hadn't fitted it standard, I would have bought one myself instantly...

It's a NX7800GTX TOP @ 500/1350, idle temps are 34°C, load temps 62°C (whilst "cooking with RTHDRIBL"...)

Great cooler and as good as inaudible...

EDIT: Oh yeah, you'll probably get some great overclocking results with it...
