I'm going to use the stock retail HSF for my 3700+ SD, I can use either the stock thermal interface material (I assume a thermal pad), or the goop I have left over from previous projects - Arctic Alumina & Shin Etsu. I've also got tubes of a variety of other silicone, e.g. the artic cooling silencer, zalman and thermalright stuff.

The Shin Etsu performance is excellent but I've maybe got 1 shot left and it's a absolute biatch to apply. I'm probably not going for a massive overclock, but like good temps and havent exactly enjoyed a previous experience of trying to clean off reminants of a thermal pad from a cpu.

I say Shin. I like AS5, but they would be so close in temps its really not worth debating over IMO.
