I had one wisdom tooth extraction and a root canal on the neighboring molar all done in one sitting. I took a look at the operation site and to my surprise there is a stitch put in on my inside cheek next to the tooth. So, did the dentist hit my cheek by accident with the drill and closed it back up? Is this normal?

Otherwise I'm happy with the operation. Considering the pain I was before I saw the dentist and how I feel now, its like night and day.

Depends on if you want to sue him. If you want to sue, I'd say that's a normal part of the procedure. If you don't really care, I'd say he screwed up ;^)

a number of dentists do this.

Mine did the same thing when I had all 3 of my wisdom teeth extracted.

I believe it has to do with faster healing of the wound.

I had some stitches when my wisdom teeth were removed. If things are feeling better and you don't have any permanent numbness, then I wouldn't sweat it.

It's normal (stitched cheek) and I had the same thing. I think they do this if there isn't enough tissue to cover the hole.

it's normal. The suture will either dissolve on it's own or you will be back in one week for suture removal. Screw the asshole who brought up suing. You are out of pain.

Whenever they got that curved, sharp tooth pick thing in my mouth, it always makes me nervous.

I one time had a barber cut my ear:mad:
