Gonna go grab some snow peas, broccoli, onion, red pepper, cauliflower, and maybe other stuff i can find. I've never used any of those stir fry oils, will they give them some spice and flavor?

Oh and if I sautee the snow peas do i need to boil them for a minute or whatever it is first?

Stir fry a bunch of crap in oil + mix in bottled sauce at the end = restaurant quality meal. Really impressive if people don't see you cook it.

i like to use yellow peppers too. stir fry in olive oil keeping the heat high and things moving. add some bacon or some strips of steak or chicken and some sauce. great meal.

Par-boiling the thicker veggies is useful (http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art55352.asp).

For Chinese food style, I would use peanut or safflower oil (or grapseed oil, if you can find it) rather than olive oil. Partly for flavor (or, rather, the lack thereof) and partly because olive oil burns too easily when stir-frying.

Use stir-fry sauce/glaze from a bottle if you want to make things easy.

Otherwise, mix a little bit of corn or potato starch with water, mix, and then add soy sauce, chile oil, sesame seed oil, and/or other seasonings of your choice. In the last minute or so of cooking, pour in the mixture to let it thicken.

why bother, veggies are getting so expensive, its probably cheaper to buy an order of mixed veggies from your local chinese restaurant.

Another vote for picking up a sauce at Trader Joes. Right now I'm using a Thai black pepper sauce which brings an interesting flavor to the table.
