Is it possible to take still shots from a Windows Media Video(*.WMV) file? Thanks for any suggestions you can give me.

Well, it can be converted to AVI then capped with PowerDVD. Depending on the size of the job though it may be simpler to just Print Screen and paste & crop etc. in a graphics proggy like Paint Shop. doom9.org

within simple common sense terms, no it can't. WMV is Microsoft's MPEG4 and now they are upto v7 and v8 and it's a closed codec. Microsoft's MPEG4 v3 was hacked into divx and those can be edited but it's not a legal codec. If you have a WMV or ASF MPEG4 v3 they can be edited by VirtualDub 1.3c anything later like the v7 or v8 you will need a complicated frame server and even then results are poor.

Indeed. Another method is to use a proggy like Snagit which would eliminate the need to manually crop and save each cap.
