Still waiting on GRID 2.

2013. Calling it now.

Especially since Codies announced they've become strictly a racing studio, which increases the chances.

What else do they make??

They took over the Operation Flashpoint IP (most recently, Red River), and they also released the FPS "Bodycount" for consoles last year. Both games were met with poor reception and they eventually decided to only focus on racing games.

It took me ma a long time to even figure out how to finish a race in Grid. Once I did though, I had a lot of fun with it.

Grid is also one of the best eyefinity games. It's perfectly optimized for 3 screens and provides super smooth framerates.

It's a great showcase game to show off your multi-monitor system to friends.

I didn't think the Physics of Grid were that bad.

I remember picking up Grand Prix Legends (at TJ Maxx of all places) and playing an entire evening without completing a lap.

Loved Grid, hope they don't screw up the sequel. Codemasters: I just want the same game with new tracks and better graphics.

I really enjoyed GRID, until I found Shift2. To me, the game was better in every single aspect, especially from the cockpit view.

I'm quite a bit more excited about Project C.A.R.S. than I am for GRID2, but I'm sure I'll buy GRID as well (I just hope they put a some more work into the cockpit view).

I'm also exited about CARS, especially that it is from the same team that did Shift2.

Grid 2 went from a must buy to a maybe with the news that cockpit view was removed. Especially since I'm looking forward to see what racing games may have future support with Oculus. Either by hacks or official support through patches.

It appears CODMASTERS is actually going backwards now.

Moody also noted that it can be quite expensive to faithfully reproduce the interior details of such a wide number of vehicles. It also takes a great deal of memory and processing to render these details in the final product.

Total BS. So a studio that has dedicated itself to ONLY making racing games doesn't have the time to model a steering with with some hand animations?

If it's a really good game, then I can live with 1st person "hood view," as long as they haven't scrapped that as well. 🙄

I've always preferred hood view, so I guess it doesn't really apply to me. Particularly when I'm playing the game with a steering wheel; having an actual wheel on your desk, combined with second wheel on-screen doesn't make much sense. I can still see the appeal of cockpit view though. It's definitely a bit of a bummer they're leaving it out.

as much fun Grid was, Gran Turismo still holds a soft spot in my heart. I still prefer GT4's system. (and amount of cars 😀).

but I can't wait to try Grid2.
