ok to date i've only gotten them to run on a power supply thats hookedup to a mobo.but now they have stoped working the also kill all other fans till i reboot. i read somewere that the problem might be daisy chaining them but this also happens when i daisy them on the last pass throu. help how are your setup are all fans on same molex from psu or woul it matter if i had a 7 volt fan with a cd rom but the fan was on the end of the chain?

I am using: 2 - 120mm case fans and 2 neon lights on one Molex using the Cliff's fanbus and it is working great. My psu is the Enermax 431 watt whisper. I wonder what psu you you are using?

BigMoe, I have found that some of my fans that would not run at 7 volts on my Eneramax psu will now run just fine on my Antec. Strange. The Enermax (as reported by MB Probe) should have been providing a larger voltage differential than the Antec, but apparently that's not what the fans were seeing.

Magic!! ;)

i have two psu's a cheapo preimer 300watt and a antec 403 watt both start the 7 volt fan but then all the fans stop after afew seconds even power supply fan and cpu fan "thank the higher for not frying my cpu" I'm at the point were a fan bus or reao stat might be better but are they reliable being i have no way to really monitor the fans? how do reos and fan buses work do they just lower the volts to 7 or can you go higher say 9 10?

It may depend on how many amps each fan works with. I had two small 40mm fans for my SV25's power supply. One would start fine at 12v and 7v, the other refused to start without help at 7v. If I remember right, the fan that needed more amps was the one that started okay. I have three fans all daisy-chained together in my SV25 (@7v), and they all start fine.

what kind of power supply are you using? Do your 7v fans start every time you turn on pc? The power cords that come out of psu the ones with the female molexs on the ends do you have any other 12v item on them. my whole problem is if i add a 7volt fan anywhere in the loop "on any molex" all fans stop even un modded fans.

think I just got it. you basicly have to power cords with 4 molexs on them if you use one cord only for the 7v fans they work it was when I mixed the 12 volt with the 7 volt it didn't work. I got my delta black at 7 volts its useable now but stable? or safe to put the side back on and forget it?
