Still no G80 Vista driver!

Does anyone know what version of the G80 Vista driver comes with Vista?

NVIDIA still hasn't posted a G80 Vista driver. What the hell is the deal? I'm really losing faith in NVIDIA at this point. They can't fix the flat panel scaling issue in their XP driver and now this! :|

I wasn't aware of the scaling glitch until today; ironic that I dumped Ati in part because of their non-support support when it comes to scaling. At least the panel I'm checking out does it on its own in VGA mode. :disgust:

But no official driver for the big launch day? Lame. At least they got the chip right. :p

Well, you can download it from the link in this forum

It's Forceware 100.54 (x86). They took the x64 link down because it wasn't working right. I don't know why they haven't showed up on NV's website yet.

Yeah, this scaling issue has really been driving me nuts because not only is flat panel scaling not working in the driver, my Dell 2407WFP wide mode option doesn't work using DVI.

So I'm stuck scaling lower 4:3 resolutions to fit my 1920x1200 screen! :|

Apparently, the flat panel scaling will not work with NVIDIA's 8800 series Vista driver either. It's suppose to be fixed in an upcoming driver release. Who knows when that will be considering they've released two or three 8800 drivers since it was released and it's still not fixed and now Vista has the same problem.

I decided to avoid the Dell because I didn't want to play the Rev. A03/04 lottery. At least I can get proper scaling on the Gateway 24", but with the driver glitch it's only in VGA which has a noticeable level of signal noise vs. DVI. For now I have it hooked up to my vid card in tandem so non-widescreen stuff still can work "properly".

If you haven't already, have a look at this. You might find a few fixes for some of your non-WS titles.

Give em a couple of hours...even on G80 launch day nothing came up at 12:01am on Nov. 8.

If nothing is on the NVidia website by 5pm...then we bash NVidia all we want.

LOL

1:00 a.m. PST and you're complaining about a driver. I can just see it now: I tell my friend I'll return his thumb drive tomorrow, and by 1:00 a.m. that morning he'll be standing on my front porch with a shotgun, demanding to know why I lied to him.

 Seriously people. On the West Coast it is 6:40. People are just now arriving at work. Give them time to get the drivers up and stop whining!!

And even the version 97.xx drivers for < G80's are buggy. For example, simple MPG acceleration doesn't work in Vista with the nvidia driver even though the little nvidia control does recognize and decode the mpg stream. And geez, the nvidia software mpg decoder is substantially less efficient than the Microsoft one. Also, the audio starts to skip if your machine is overclocked even though the MS codec doesn't suffer the same problem.

For the life of me, I cannot get DX9 rendering to run in Vista......Call of Duty 2 being a perfect example. The game runs fine in DX7 but DX9 won't work.

Dunno if it's driver issue, DirectX issue, what? Anyone got an idea?

Looks like we're all the guinea pigs with Nvidia.....

I have never gotten the fixed aspect ratio scaling to work on a 7800GT either, on every driver I tried. Does this issue apply to the 7 series stuff too?
