That may be a skyrim issue. I think anyway -- because I had flickering / screwed up physics in skyrim on 580 sli as well. I also had weird physics, like stuff just flying all over the place with vsync turned off. Do not mess with vsync in any shape or fashion, it will screw up the game.

Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl2kGDztuRg

Thanks for the video. That is the problem exactly and just describing it has driven me nuts.

I'd rather they take their time and release quality WHQL drivers than rush something out the door.

I'm using 11.12's and have no issues with my 7970.

You're simply given more choice: you can have the GPU now, but the drivers might be a bit immature.
I mean, you still have a choice of not buying a new GPU until WHQL drivers are out, don't you?

It will always be a little rushed out simply because developers have 3-6 months after they first get HW in their hands, and the first revs will likely have HW bugs as well.
And I bet nV/AMD in-house testing is more rigorous/extensive than WHQL.

The mentality you are responding to is not logical. It's pushed out there by the Nvidia diehards to find some sort of 'negative' against the fastest cards on the market.
It's like having a monthly WHQL (which I use only those) and previews and hotfixes. MOAR choice is confusing (for those who hate Radeons..)

Am I only one thats thinks of Tommy Boy when its comes to WHQL. Does MS's guarantee make feel all warm and toasty inside?

Do you have adaptive aa turned on by chance?

No, I've been messing with the AA and Vsync to try and see if some combo removes this.

I'm going to mess with it some more today and let you all know if I ever figure it out. I can still enjoy the game but it is pretty annoying to see the flashing and some areas are really really bad.

lol, No, it doesn't. What it does do is show that the driver team takes their development seriously.

How would you feel if car manufacturers were allowed to sell cars that weren't crash tested? Obviously this is on a different scale but I think it applies.

Yeah, I had to revert back because 12.2/12.3 where not as stable. That's a lot of the reason I'll be installing nVidia v301.10 WHQL drivers today. I've owned AMD's flagship card for 2 months now, and I'm still using Beta drivers because they are more stable than their WHQL drivers. 2 months is more than enough time to get things working and they should have had WHQL at launch for a freaking $600 video card. Just despicable (shakes head).

Running 12.3 drivers with my 7950, zero issues. Thats in daily usage or gaming.

Actually I take that back, I had to disable sleep, because it wouldn't wake from sleep. But I rarely let the machine go to sleep anyway.

But no crashes, BSOD's, or otherwise.

Are you guys running certain settings or OCs?

I've been using the 12.3 (or whatever was on their website in March) and I haven't had any issues. Then again, maybe I'm not even using 7xxx drivers? Haha.

My system restores from sleep fine and I haven't noticed any performance issues in the games I've been enjoying. I haven't had any hard lock ups since I installed the card, and this is on a completely new system with no Windows re-install (was actually thinking I'd have to reformat due to my raid, but the Windows read the new mobo no problem and just booted up.)

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I actually have not tested the sleep issue recently. That goes back to when I was running the beta drivers. Several others reported the same issue. I suppose I should retest it with the latest drivers.

I recall Notty saying something about the TDR issue for nVidia (and I guess AMD has it too?) was due to the power settings when going into low idle or something like the card not getting enough juice?

The only issue I think I ever ran into was the power issue on the HD 58xx series. Where your PC wouldn't power up after turning it on. I did however realize I only had that issue when my Processor was OC'ed. Taking the OC off, I never ran into that issue again of course until I OC'ed the processor again.

Well I never fixed this issue with my 5870, but now that I switched to my 680 I've had no issues, I'm using the 301.10 ones I pulled from the nvidia site.

My 7950 is being RMA'd to Sapphire because of this issue. My current PC is a new build and since I sent the 7950 back I have been using my old 4830, it works just fine.

I would be very interested to see if the issue goes away with the new card.

Please do this retesting.

Rc11 i once in a while get the won't wake up from sleep issue...last time it did it,it played havoc with both trixx and ccc basically ruining my oc and stability, and now afterburner gives me errors every time i open it and close it,i believe these errors are the cause of my card once in a while overvolting at idle do to some conflict i mentioned in another thread.

These might of been mentioned already but on a fresh OS install I had the following issues with the 12.3 WHQL drivers with my 7970.

1. Crashes on wake from sleep. - Disabled sleep.
2. Corrupted mouse cursor on one screen with 3 displays. - No fix.
3. Driver refuses to turn off ULPS(Ultra Low Power State) causing driver crashes at desktop when the card is overclocked. - Removed 12.3 and installed RC11 drivers. Some say that you can get around this by installing RC11 then 12.3 over them. I haven't tried it.

Their drivers are crap, but the card is fast as hell @ 1250/1600. It makes me wonder how much performance is left on the table by their crappy drivers.
