Still Need Help - Which one do i buy now? (CDRW)

Ok guys i've had this problem chroniclly after i move my PC (for lan party and what not) every time i move it my CD-RW drive (HP 9300i) stops being detected by window and a red light is permanently on, on the drive. It is usually easily solved all i do is make 1 successful boot then power down unplug the machine wait 30 seconds and plug th emachine back in and it starts being detected again. I have tried that several times now and it is not working, any suggestions?

Been looking through the forums and a few visits to CDRinfo and i cant decide which to get\
The LiteOn LTR-32123S
OR
The ASUS CRW-3212A (This one is looking very slim since i cant find a retailer to buy it from)
OR
The SONY CRX175A (70$ at hot deals but is it a good drive, the liteon is only 25 more at Newegg no rebate)

I have been leaning towards the LiteOn cause of what you guys here seem to think but CDRinfo made me iffy.
So which would should it be guys (I'm sure you the lot of you answer this question daily

Make sure your wires are plugged in...??

Sounds like a loose connect/short in the drive May be about to meet it's maker.

bah i hope not i paid 100 bucks for this POS (stupid hewlett packard) if only i had known about hot deals when i was looking for a CD-RW

How old is it? Not under warranty?

I had a Philips RW pack up on me.....

Check your IDE cable (on the CDRW and on any other drives on the chain) to make sure it's not loose. Also check any other connections to/from the CDRW.

Other than that, sounds like it may be givin up on ya.

i dunno if you tried/heard this.. but are your wires plugged in? not necessarily the cdrw wires.. but any other wires.. like... to your speakers.. or headphones.. microwave even.. don't really know were i'm going with this just trying to make fun or people and "bump this guys thread for him"
