First, my stats... Athlon 64 3000+, 512 value corsair RAM, rated at DDR 400. I'm using the A8N-SLi, with a single 6600GT.

If my system is not overclocked, my memory read/write speed is fine, above the baseline in nVPreformance. (The benchmarking thing that came with my motherboard.)

Yet, running at 250 FBS (HTTx4) with a DDR 333 divider for 415 Mhz RAM yields me HALF the benchmarks, in nVPreformance and Sandra! (CPU here is going at 2.25 Ghz) The scores I get here are horrible for all things memory.

But wait, it gets weirder! I switched the FBS down to 240 a few seconds ago for kicks and giggle, changing nothing else. My RAM, now running at 392 Mhz, runs faster than it does at 415 Mhz, FBS 250! Here it gets about 3/4 the score it should be getting, so it still is a problem despite being better that only 1/2 the expected.

But the point is, we are looking at a reversed relationship here... The RAM got slower and it's read/write speeds increased! Assuming that this was a controlled experiment, what could be the cause?

EDIT: When overclocking, I am running 2.8 volts to my RAM.
