Prices keep dropping on these oem units. Retail packages still due "any day now."

GoogleGear has the XP 2200+ for $200, with 50 cents for 2-day FedEx shipping.

Good deal. My relative works at googlegear so i don't havta pay shipping to get something from them. It's probably wiser to wait for the future t-breds with more "overclockable" steppings or the future 333mhz fsb or 512k cache versions.

It's going to be a looooong wait for "future" tbreds.

This is going to be the fastest AMD chip available for awhile. AMD is very behind on production schedules.

There's no question that AMD has fallen behind for now. But they still remain the best bang for your buck by far. The only reason Intel can charge $500 for a processor is that it has no competition at the moment.

If I remember correct, I read that AMD has got their .13 process down pat, and the Athlon XP2400+, and 2600+ should be out in 2-3 weeks. I am hoping they will start making the XP 1700+ on the .13, 166Mhz FSB :), as long as you have a board with a 1/5

Marlin: There is just no way that is going to happen. They haven't even STARTED shipping the retail packages of the 2200+.
